A futuristic mind blowing city in a garden, Garden by the Bay is something you have never seen before. Stretching across 101 hectares of land in Central Singapore, this park features three waterfront gardens, two conservatories, larger than life supertrees, and more. Some even claim it to be better than Singapore’s all time favorite park, Orchid Gardens. And since Gardens by the Bay is so new, everyone is talking about it.

Supertree Grove
The three waterfront gardens consist of Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central. Bay Central stands between the other two gardens with scenic walks. Open 24 hours, Bay East offers one of the best views of Marina Bay. This lush green area features wide lawns, palm trees, and pavilions, all making Bay East the tranquil spot to relax. Bay South is the largest garden and home to the supertrees. As you can see in photos, these impressive trees tower high and really give off the futuristic feel. Their name describes them well considering they play an important role in the gardens survival. Reaching 25 to 50 meters high, these supertrees home loads of rare exotic flora and fauna, generate solar power, collect rainwater, and act as venting ducts for the park’s conservatory cooling system. Between the two 25 meter trees is a walkway to experience a different view of the park. For even better views, you can head to the bistro at the top of the 50 meter supertree. The trees really come alive at night during the OCBC Garden Rhapsody, a daily light and music show.
Also located in Bay South, the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest conservatories should not be missed. The Flower Dome with pleasant smells and colors replicates a cool-dry climate similar to Mediterranean regions. Open from 9am to 9pm daily, the Flower Dome brings you to South Africa, Central Chile, West U.S., South West Australia, and Mediterranean regions without leaving Singapore. Replicating a cool-moist climate found in tropical mountainous regions from 1,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level, the Cloud Forest is abundant in greenery complete with a waterfall and mountain. Stepping into the Cloud Forest truly feels like entering another world..with cool breezes!
Other attractions include, the Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes, Heritage Gardens, and World of Plants. There are also several cafes, eateries, and scheduled events within the park. As you can see, a full day can be spent at this park of the future, especially with its long opening hours. For more visitor information, check the Gardens by the Bay website. With all its features and fauna, Gardens by the Bay is innovation mixed with nature at its best!
