Top 5 Nightlife Experiences in Singapore

Singapore has a thriving nightlife that can easily rival those found across Europe or the United States. Locals and expatriates flock to the city’s numerous bars and restaurants to mingle, dance, drink and just plain have a good time.

Here we have the top 5 places where you can experience the ultimate in Singapore nightlife.

1. Peranakan Place

Peranakan Place

Peranakan Place is one of the first restaurant bars you’ll see when you get to Emerald Hill, just off Orchard Road. It’s a traditional Peranakan heritage building that was transformed into a three-in-one bar that offers something for just about everyone. The Alleybar gets its name as it opens up to an alleyway for extra places. The Acid Bar is located right next door and attracts people for its daily scheduled live band performances. The Outdoors Cafe is a nice and relaxing option for those who wish to lounge with friends over a nice glass of wine and some food.

2. KU DÉ TA

KU DÉ TA SkyTerrace

Located on top of the Marina Bay SkyPark, KU DÉ TA may be relatively new in the Singapore party scene, but it has already gained a following among locals and visitors alike. There’s the restaurant where your brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are prepared by award-winning chefs and served in a five-star atmosphere. At night the place becomes the setting for the KU DÉ TA Club Lounge, and offers a great selection of wines, cognac and champagne. Party hard indoors to the sound of beats brought to you by deejays, or mingle outside while taking in Singapore’s amazing cityscape.

3. Zouk

Zouk

When it comes to the ultimate in the Singapore nightclub scene, Zouk is it. This iconic club has been around since 1991 and has been favorably compared to clubs in the US and Europe. The main area of Zouk offers house music, those who prefer something different can choose from either Velvet Underground or Phuture, two of Zouk’s other clubs. You can while the time away at Zouk Wine Bar before the party hours begin.

4. Bar CoCoon

Bar CoCoon

As part of Indochine’s Forbidden City in Clarke Quay, Bar CoCoon offers an intimate venue for the club scene. Its decor is very Eastern in nature, and mimics the coziness of a butterfly’s cocoon with the overall atmosphere giving off an aura of sensuality and charm. Found inside Bar CoCoon is the Ice Palace, a bar inside a 16×12 foot room built with triple-glazed safety glass that can withstand extreme temperatures. Bar CoCoon maintains “cool” at – 15 degrees Celsius, and only vodka is served as it doesn’t freeze at that point. Guests wear specially designed fur jackets and can stay in the bar for only a short amount of time.

5. Insomnia at Chijmes

Insomnia at Chijmes

Insomnia is Singapore’s first club licensed to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It actually shares a common area with several other clubs in Chijmes, so you can bar hop from one place to another. Aside from their 24/7 operating hours, Insomnia Bar is the first to offer free-flowing drinks in the Singapore bar and club scene. The Guys & Girls Night on Wednesdays attracts many party-goers. For $20, guys get free flowing beer from 9PM to 11PM, while the girls get it from 9PM to 12 midnight. Not bad for a place located in what was once a Catholic church, right?

While brainstorming ideas, he decided that a travel blog dedicated to his favorite countries, Thailand and Singapore, could be more beneficial than any guidebook. Only one year later did the blog’s success bring in more writers, more countries, and more readers.
