Treasure Blue Nike Hyperdunk Shoes For Basketball
I would really like to work for Nike. What sneakerhead wouldn’t? Of course, the odds of getting a job there are probably the same as winning the lottery. I really don’t ask for much. I just want to be part of the Nike design team determining what colorways they will use on their basketball shoes. I’m not asking to be involved in creating the innovative performance design elements that go into these shoes. I’m not that bright. And I guess I’m a little superficial too. I absolutely judge a shoe by its color. That’s why I love Nike basketball shoes. The various colorways and design patterns they drop their shoes in are light years ahead of any other shoe company. And it’s not just the colors and patterns they create. This is the name they give to the colors they use.
It would be next to impossible to list the entire list of epic colorways that Nike has used on their basketball shoes in the past few years alone. So I won’t even try. What I’m going to do is focus on the most recent gem of a colorway that the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 released in. I would like to talk about three colors in particular. Blue treasure. Ice. Volt. The official colorway description for the latest edition of the Hyperdunk is Treasure Blue/Ice/Volt. Need I say more? No, but I’ll do it anyway. Nike tweaked the colors of royal blue, gray and electric green to create a much “cooler” sounding color group. I have to be part of this color naming process in some form or another.
Treasure Blue dominates this shoe and is used on the upper, midsole, tongue, laces, and outsole. The Volt is present on the inner lining and accents on the collar of the shoe. An Ice Swoosh is used to complete the shoe. Epic colors used on an epic shoe. I want to come in!
The new 2011 Hyperdunk that boasts these epic colors is just one of many high performance basketball shoes that Nike has discontinued over the past three years. Flywire technology is used on the upper of the shoe and provides lightweight support. The shoe’s midsole is made of lightweight Phylon technology and provides maximum impact protection. The outsole uses a solid herringbone rubber for ultimate traction control. Great looks in a high performance package. Enough said.
It’s time to resubmit my resume to Nike. This will be my third time doing this today. Somehow, I don’t think my chances of getting a job in the color design lab are any better.
